PHENOMENOLOGY OF FEAR

JB, KE, MF, EL, NN, EKO

Kalvudden, Trosa  friday 13th august 2004

In a house on a windy pine ridge on a small promontary, we climbed into the attic and stumbled on a pack of yellow newspapers in the sawdust. One Dagens Nyheter was from Friday the 13th august, the same day as the current, but the year 1971. The spirit seemed uncanny. We cut out the pictures and doodled some on them, and found ourselves having constructed a catalogue of fears, which we then dealt with, also verbally.

I

KNOWING ONE IS NOT DOING ONES BEST

The city under the lamp hangs on him; his face proves he knows. Is a tortoise. The dome of the lamp is the firmament peeked under.

II

SQUEEZED

between oneself, the firmament and the city. Involuntary berserk. He gives birth to his frog body, his shadow. Panic and rage. Tries to save the world from the black sun.

III

NOT A RIDDLE BUT A PUZZLE

Incomprehensible dance in the distance. Haunting scene seen through the window or in the dream, over and over again.

IV

LANDSCAPE WITHOUT CONTENT/ KEY STIMULUS FOR ANXIETY

V

THE FACTS IN THE CASE OF M. VALDEMAR

VI

AGAIN WORLDCARRIER

A happy death. Fish and flute music. That is the marvellous.

(VII

CHAOS

Give in for the storming flow and you may fly away like the horse.

(VIII

FROG OR PRINCE

Confront ones phantoms. Which way?)

IX

DELIRIUM TREMENS

Fear of interpretation.  Enhanced senses, microscopic regard. All these animals. Animals that nest and crawl. Animals that sniff. Quantum mechanical animals, animals which do not have a place when they are not nailed by ones regard.

X

THE WORST PICTURE

XI

WHERE EVEN MONSTERS FEAR TO TREAD

Everybody have hammers. But only Palme is coming. The great invisibles take no part in the negotiations..

XII

THE FEAR OF BEING DIRECTED

XIII

SHUFFLING AWAY PERSONAL IDENTITY

Male community manipulating an annihilated subject, into a hole.

XIV

LOSING ONES FACE

The face cracks into small continents, houses colonies of larvae, is pregnant. The face is big, too big.

XV

The fear of pleasure,

fear of having sex with a lion, fear of something not in the picture. Fear of time standing still, of the sun shining and everybody remain fast asleep.
